Some rooms had air conditioning but I had stayed in a few that did not and even on some of the hot August days it never seemed a problem and the nights were always temperate and comfortable. There is no common area which I found nice

Very charming & quirky old world style inn. Original art on the walls.

I have stayed at the White Horse Inn multiple times in the 1980's,1990's and went there twice, once in 2004 then 2006. I don't believe much has changed.

There is an attractive front yard with a perennial garden.

It is either an early 19th century or late 17th century large center hall

(remember this is Cape Cod) you've found the right place.

The Inn is far enough away from the center of town making it quiet,

yet is a short walking distance from all the activity from the center of town.

If your looking for a place reasonably priced

The White Horse has not changed in decades. I highly recommend staying there.

because know other guests are lingering around.

colonial house, with guest rooms varying in sizes and price points.

Walking back in time is defined by the White Horse Inn nostalgia floods my mind of past vists to my grandparents homes. This is a place that inspires the mind and releases the trapped creative person to be free. Forget about those distraction of modern society you won't find them here, and I say hallelujah. You can stay in the generic cookie cutter hotel and live the "They Live" movie (movie from 1988). Maybe now it's time to step out of the usual and expected and cure your creative self . For the superficially ,trendy, techno , and high maintenance person your place lies elsewhere.

fairly sophisticated yet unpretentious atmosphere with authentic charm.

Frank the owner and Innkeeper seemed always available, pretty layed back, with a kind disposition and very accommodating, he never lingered.

there were rooms with and without private baths.

The shared bathrooms were always clean and never a problem to access because most of the people staying there were on different schedules,(this seemed consistent over the years) The place has a lot of colloquial art work as it relates to the beach and town culture. The Interiors look like the work of an artists eye. It is very interesting and unique to other places in the area. (I'm an interior designer) The art work has a bright colorful, airy quality with authentic 19th century furnishings and charm with no pretense or heavy handedness.
