Walked from the wharf where we had parked...a mile or more to the monument. Pretty walk. But, you can park and get one free ticket in their paid parking lot. 60 or so stair steps and 100+ ramps of walking will get you to the top for spectacular views and lovely breeze. Interesting information about cities in the state on the inside to bolster you as you walk. Little windowed on each floor have a rushing breeze to cool you off as you walk up an otherwise warm inside tower in summer. Totally worth it.
Fun, unique landmark on the Cape. We were there for the lighting of the Christmas lights that the monument is decorated, it was crowded but well run and managed. The museum at the foot of the monument has some wonderful historical content and is worth a visit.
There are a nice little museum and gift shop close to the monument. The views from the top of the monument are gorgeous on a clear day - we saw Boston over forty miles away. There are quite a lot of steps to climb to the top of the tower, so it's probably not a great place for young children or those who have trouble climbing/walking.
Its a beautiful history place where you will learn how and where the pilgrims land first. The sight is gorgeous but you have to be ready to walk a lot of stairs. It worth it.
Beautiful monument worth walking the 160-some steps and ramps to get to the top at 252 feet. Lovely views all around. Take water and stop often! Nice breezes at the top. Museum and gift shop are very nice. Park in the lot all day, with cost going toward one admission.
